ZGS20-Z-40.5/0.69-4000 American-style combined substation | Special for wind and solar power voltage boosting

ZGS20-Z·-40.5/0.69-4000 wind power/pv combined substation, 40.5kV high-voltage double-break protection, fully sealed structure, compact footprint, has passed type inspection, designed to quickly boost voltage and connect to the grid for new energy sites.

The ZGS type modular substation (American-style box substation) features a fully sealed oil-immersed transformer as its core component. The high-voltage side uses a combination of double-break fuse + load switch for protection. It has a compact structure and a long maintenance interval, specifically optimized for power collection and voltage boosting in wind farms and photovoltaic power plants. The representative model ZGS20-Z·-40.5/0.69-4000 has passed type inspection.

The challenges in new energy substations lie not in capacity but in operating conditions: inverter harmonics and shock loads, drastic fluctuations in load day and night, and the location of the substation in hot, dusty areas or island environments. The ZGS platform provides three-line response to these issues—completing impedance matching and harmonic calculation according to the inverter curve, rechecking temperature rise margin for fluctuating loads, and adding dust, corrosion, and dew prevention configurations based on the local climate.

The key structure and electrical configuration are shown in the parameter table below.

The box is designed for harsh outdoor environments: enhanced heat dissipation and dust protection in hot, dusty regions, and anti-corrosion coating and stainless steel fasteners used in coastal areas. A ring network high-voltage unit can be installed to allow flexible wiring combinations, leaving an interface for expansion in the second phase of the substation.

Supporting services include bulk delivery scheduling, random spare parts packages, and installation and commissioning documents. These have been successfully operated in multiple overseas photovoltaic power plants and wind farm power collection projects.

Quality control covers the entire manufacturing process: rolled silicon steel is precisely cut on the slitting line, core assembly is inspected section by section according to the process checklist, the automatic winding machine completes winding, then enters the body assembly and vacuum impregnation (VPI) station. Routine tests are completed before shipment, and type tests and third-party verification can be arranged as needed—from material selection to traceable records of each process, all are provided in document form with the goods.

The long-term value of the American-style substation route lies in operation and maintenance: the double-break protection action is intuitive and isolation is clear, reducing the training cost for substation operators; the fully sealed structure minimizes daily maintenance to near zero. For remote wind farms and photovoltaic power plants with large service areas, the five-year holding cost difference is very significant.

Export delivery is a regular aspect of this product line: multilingual nameplates, CE and ISO system documents, and inspection report catalogs are prepared at three levels: bidding, evaluation, and factory inspection. Packaging and transportation are designed in two options: full box or separate units. Island logistics and lifting conditions are included in the boundary during the design stage. The quality control foundation as a national high-tech enterprise, a national energy-saving product promotion enterprise, and a qualified supplier of State Grid/China Southern Power Grid also serve the review schedule of overseas projects.

The third-party inspection reports and CE/ISO system documents for this series can be provided with the quotation. Bidding pre-qualification can directly refer to them. For markets with requirements for energy efficiency and noise, actual measurement comparison tables are issued according to local standards.

The default commitments for after-sales service: remote technical support within the warranty period, random vulnerable spare parts packages, and engineers can be invited to guide installation at major nodes; for distributors and EPC partners, installation training videos and bilingual manuals are provided to resolve on-site problems before operation starts.

Pain Points Solved

Requirements for equipment in wind farm power collection and photovoltaic power stations: outdoor maintenance-free operation, small land occupation, compact grid connection nodes; the conventional civil construction of substations cannot keep up with the project timeline.
